Talent through the Years
Wagner Creek Road
Jacob Wagner was the first Euro-American to settle and remain in the Talent area. He built his homestead along the banks of the creek that would later bear his name. In the spring of 1852, he filed a claim for 160 acres, and also filed the first claim in the state of Oregon for water rights in the area. He successfully engaged in farming and raising stock for the next 10 years.
